project Holiday Cabins, Plitvice Holiday Resort, Grabovac, Croatia

Plitvice Holiday Resort is located in the immediate vicinity of Plitvice Lakes, or more precisely 10 km before entering the national park from the side of Karlovac. When approaching by the state road D1, the view of the reception and restaurant of the tourist resort opens up, while the accommodation capacities remain hidden in the interior of the resort.

By entering the tourist settlement, the structures within the forest appear timidly in the gap between the two existing buildings. The path leads you to the pedestrian bridge from which you can enjoy the best view of the entire area.

The bridge connects the whole tourist resort, it has become a place of encounter and interaction, before the descent and entrance into the intimate microenvironment.

The zone is divided into two larger units characterized by different types of accommodation.

On the east side of the bridge is an artificial lake, around which 9 little one-story houses are located. Some of the houses are located just by the lake, with their terraces floating above the lake, while some are situated in the forest, above the lake, in a more intimate zone overlooking the lake. The houses are conceived as two-bedrooms with bathrooms. Two beaches are also spread along the lake – a pebble beach, allowing direct entry into the water, and a wooden platform above the lake. The lake is designed as a natural swimming pool, the first such structure executed in Croatia, where plants and microorganisms purify the water and keep it clean and suitable for swimming.
